Jenny Moore makes art so that she can reach out to people and invite them into a visual conversation. Her painting reflects a dialogue between the inside and the outside. Jenny lures the viewer inside the surface of her canvas with color and whimsy bringing the gaze from the outside world to the inside world of a painter.
Jenny studied painting while raising three children with her husband in Freeport, Maine. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with Honors in Painting at the Maine College of Art in Portland, Maine. Jenny grew up in Washington, DC, and went to Boston University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. She studied with the Corcoran School of Art at a summer residency program in Union, Maine. She also studied at the University of Southern Maine. She lived in the western US during college and in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil after college. She worked as a teacher in Brazil and Maine. Her travels, her work, and her life in Maine for the past few decades have informed her color and her narrative.
